[mailto:br@megos.ch] [Diary] [Megos Home Page]
I write my diary about the "Year 2000 Problem" in German. Technically it would be no problem for me to write it in English. But there is an important reason for German: Much more information about the problem is available in English than in German.
I see it as quite pointless to add to the wealth of information in English while the German speaking countries Germany, Austria and Switzerland are still pretty ignorant about the problem.
For those of you who understand English there are great Web sites that are updated daily with informations about the problem, like http://www.garynorth.com or http://www.year2000.com . In fact, I also get most of the informations I am writing about in my diary from such sites and not from sites here in Europe.
So beeing excluded from the pleasure of reading my diary should not be much of a problem given these alternatives :)
However, as exceptions to the rule there are three pieces of information in English that might be interesting: The text of my first posting to the Usenet, a summary about the situation concerning Y2K here in Switzerland: Report: Y2K in Switzerland, and the corresponding follow-ups On the Move and Frightening Silence
